LOUISVILLE, Ky (October 31, 2018) – The Health Enterprises Network (HEN) announces the election of a new board chairman. Current board member David Henley, VP and Chief Compliance Officer of Passport Health Plan, has been named chairman of the board. Two new directors, Michael Bryant and Richmond Simpson, were also elected to the board. Service terms will begin in January 2019.

David Henley is vice president and chief compliance officer of Passport Health Plan, Kentucky’s only non-profit, community-based health care provider. He is a highly effective attorney with experience in the health insurance and health care markets. David is a proven leader, managing and motivating direct reports and cross-functional teams to attain company goals. He is knowledgeable of business operations and current market trends to help clients plan, develop and execute effective business strategies. He serves in multiple roles and uses analytical and creative skills to help management reach company goals and further its mission.
Before joining Passport, Henley was a managing associate general counsel for WellPoint Inc., where he provided legal support for the following WellPoint Inc. subsidiaries: Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Missouri, UniCare Life & Health Insurance Company and HealthLink Inc.
Henley has also been a staff attorney and an examiner-in-charge in the Market Conduct Section of the Missouri Department of Insurance. Henley also served with the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of captain in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
More About Michael Bryant
Michael Bryant received his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Indiana University in 1978 and received his certified public accountant certification from the State of Illinois in 1978. After completion of his master of business administration degree in health administration at the University of Chicago in 1985, Bryant was named chief financial officer for Diversified Health Services, the parent of Hamilton Hospital. In 1989, Bryant was promoted to CEO of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
In New Jersey, Bryant served as a commissioner for the Hamilton Township Redevelopment Authority, and chairman of the finance and marketing committee. He also served as the chairman of the Hamilton Township School District Strategic Planning Committee. Bryant was named president and CEO of Methodist Health Services Corporation in June 1999. He became president & CEO of Centra Health in 2011 and came to Louisville in 2016 as the EVP & Chief Administration Officer for Trilogy Health Services.
