Nazareth Home to Acquire Mercy Sacred Heart
Nazareth Home, Inc. has entered into an exclusive agreement with Ohio based Catholic Health Partners (CHP) with the intent to purchase Mercy Sacred Heart, Louisville, Kentucky, with its 146 licensed beds and other services. Once completed, likely by the end of summer, it will bring two compatible organizations together in service to the community in new ways. Nazareth Home will grow to 317 licensed beds between the two campuses.
Founded in 1976 by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, Nazareth Home has a commitment to post-acute and rehabilitation services, personal care and long term care with a focus on memory care.
“Our goal will be not to duplicate the services of Nazareth Home on the Sacred Heart campus but to develop new programs and expand much needed services in the community. We are very appreciative of our current partnerships in the community that allow us to move forward with confidence regarding this growth opportunity. We are very grateful for the continued support of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and our board of directors and we look forward to working with the local Ursuline Sisters and the Sisters of Mercy who founded Mercy Sacred Heart. The deep roots and commitment to ministry exhibited by these congregations will further call us to deepen our own life affirming and compassionate mission,” says Mary Haynes, President and CEO, Nazareth Home.
Adeline Fehribach, SCN, Provincial of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, states, “The purchase of Mercy Sacred Heart by Nazareth Home would extend the excellent, compassionate care Nazareth Home provides residents of the Louisville area. We are very pleased with the possibility of expanding the ministry of Nazareth Home to those in need of its services and with Mary Haynes for her leadership in the Nursing Home profession and the care she has shown for those who need these services.”
