As the COVID-19 vaccine becomes increasingly available, Humana is committed to making sure everyone knows when, where and how to get a vaccine. In our corporate hometown, this commitment focuses on health equity, access to care and equitable vaccine distribution in West Louisville, a historically underserved community.

Humana recently collaborated with Jefferson County Public Schools, Norton Healthcare, and state and local government to open a COVID-19 vaccine clinic at Whitney Young Elementary School. The Whitney Young clinic aimed to remove barriers that might prevent a West Louisville resident from receiving a COVID-19, including accessibility and proximity of the neighboring community.

“Hey, I know where that is”

In the two months it was open, the Whitney Young vaccine clinic administered almost 3,000 COVID-19 vaccines. Many people like Jason and Tywana, two West Louisville residents, reported the entire process was easy – from hearing about the clinic, to arriving there, to receiving the shot. If you’re not already, consider getting vaccinated against COVID-19 and talk to your doctor about what’s best for you.
