Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs LLP is pleased to announce that one of its Partners, Jefferey Yussman, has been named President of the Special Needs Alliance (SNA). The invitation only national nonprofit association of attorneys serves individuals with disabilities and their families. Among the criteria of SNA membership is relevant legal experience in the fields of disability and elder law, and active participation with national, state and local disability advocacy organizations.
Mr. Yussman concentrates his law practice in the areas of estate planning and administration, business succession planning and charitable planning. He is also the chair of the firm’s special needs planning practice, which he runs under the trade name, Yussman Special Needs Law. Mr. Yussman previously served as a member of the SNA’s Executive Committee as its President-Elect and its Treasurer, and has devoted many years serving his community in leadership roles, including with the Community Foundation of Louisville, Metro United Way, Wellspring (which provides housing and psychiatric rehabilitative services to those facing the challenges of serious and persistent mental illness), and other organizations serving individuals with special needs. Mr. Yussman was recognized with the Allen Society Community Service Award, and the Alberta Wood Allen Continuous Service Award by Metro United Way. Mr. Yussman is known nationally as a writer and lecturer on topics of special needs law, estate planning, business succession and charitable planning.
